Latency & Finality Comparator¶
Speed is the difference between an app that feels instant and one that makes users wait. Compare Altius's confirmation and finality targets against a shared chain — for a single action and across a sequence.
How it's modeled¶
- Altius confirmation — sub-millisecond acknowledgement of an action (target <1 ms).
- Altius finality — deterministic settlement on the order of one block (target ~60 ms), so confirmed actions are final almost immediately.
- Shared-chain finality — the editable baseline (default 5 s) represents waiting on a chain you share with everyone else.
- Sequential actions — many flows chain multiple dependent actions; the cumulative view shows how the per-action gap compounds.
Target figures
Latency and finality numbers are targets / benchmarked, not audited production guarantees. The shared-chain baseline is illustrative and editable.
